As part of our Gender Equity agenda, Child Friendly Cardiff have teamed up with Plan UK to run a Social Action Grant Process, encouraging the brilliant Young People of Cardiff to apply for up to £1000 to run a project in Cardiff, tackling an issue they are passionate about.
We are midway through the process and have nine exciting projects happening. Some of these include a graffiti project called ‘She Paints Our Streets’, which encourages more young girls and women to become involved in the art which is currently a predominantly male arena, Podcasting, Wrestling, Cycling, a Young Mum’s support network, and Period Product supplies for those who struggle to access them.
At the end of April each project will have the opportunity to share their brilliant work at an event held by Plan UK and CFC , where we will welcome councillors, senior leaders and other relevant service provider’s to understand the important work these young people have and will continue to carry out.
