As Cardiff celebrates being re-accredited by UNICEF UK as a Child Friendly City, we are shining a light on the everyday opportunities that help make Cardiff a great place for babies, children and young people to grow up, play, learn, take part and enjoy their rights.
The school summer holidays are a brilliant time for children, young people and families to explore what is happening across the city. From play, parks and outdoor spaces to youth centres, family support and activities for younger children, there are lots of opportunities available across Cardiff.

Being a Child Friendly City means working together to make sure children’s rights are understood, respected and put into practice. This includes children’s right to play, rest, take part in cultural and community life, be listened to, feel safe, and access the support they need.
We encourage families across Cardiff to take a look, try something new, and make the most of the opportunities available during the school summer holidays.
Cardiff’s journey as a Child Friendly City belongs to everyone — and this summer is a chance to celebrate the people, places and services helping babies, children, young people and families enjoy their city.
