On the 4th February, Cardiff Youth Council ran interviews for an exciting new role within the Youth Council to appoint an Equality and Inclusion Officer.
The Equality and Inclusion Officer post had been created by CYC to look at the membership of the youth council and to work with the Exec and other members to remove barriers, work on inclusivity and challenge any forms of discrimination.
The panel of young people concluded that there were two candidates perfect for the role. Rain Preece and Shivani Kothegal were appointed as the new Equality and Inclusion Officers.
Together they will now be working on the Gender Equality Steering Group and building a plan of how they can improve Cardiff Youth Council for now, and for the future.
