The Child Friendly Cardiff team kicked off a series of workshops with businesses in the city centre this week.

The goal ultimately is to enhance Cardiff City Centre in a post-pandemic, cost of living crisis, by bringing businesses together to share good practise and generate new collaborative ideas around social value and spatial justice.

Questions posed by the Child Friendly team centred on what purpose the city provides for its thousands of residents, visitors and workers, and how collaborative efforts could add value to be welcoming for everyone.

Representatives from Barclays, Zurich, St Davids Centre, and Bru Coffee discussed issues on inclusion, accessibility, safety, and maintaining a fun city centre for children and young people to enjoy.

Attendees were encouraged to take the conversation back into their business to stimulate more conversation, with a second workshop scheduled for February 2023.

If you are a city centre business or organisation and would like to get involved in the conversation or learn more about children’s rights, drop us a message at childfriendlycardiff@cardiff.gov.uk.
