For National Safeguarding Week, Cardiff has launched a corporate safeguarding animated video designed to help all staff understand what we can do to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse.
The video reinforces the message that ‘safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility’ and we all have a duty to report safeguarding concerns under the Wales Safeguarding Procedures 2019. The video includes signs to look out for and how to report concerns. Watch the video below:
From 16-20 November, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Regional Safeguarding Board have a series of digital events focussed around the theme of social isolation. The events offer a mix of training, talks and workshops for a range of audiences including professionals, practitioners, stakeholders and general public.
Highlights include a presentation from the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales; a multi-agency learning session presented by Clive Ruggles titled ‘My Daughter Alice’; and the week will culminate in the Safeguarding Recognition Awards Ceremony.
